CDK Global says ‘substantially all' dealers are back online after a crippling hack

CDK Global has announced that almost all of the car dealerships using its software across North America are back online after a cyber incident caused a software blackout. The outage began on June 19 and affected roughly 15,000 dealerships. CDK is actively working to restore other applications, including the Customer Relationship Management system, which is expected to be up and running by July 4. The outage would have resulted in substantial financial losses for affected dealerships if it had continued for three weeks. The software failure made it challenging for dealers to track customer interactions, orders, and sales.
